The Protocol Team works on behalf of the Mayor at the intersection of politics and society. It promotes the positive public image of Mainz, the state capital, and ensures an appropriate setting for events such as state visits, commemorative and honorary ceremonies, official ceremonies, anniversaries, and recognitions of civic engagement.

Accordingly, the Protocol Team cooperates with other branches of the administration and, through its work, provides a cross-cutting perspective.
