The department covers all essential areas of activity to ensure that the Mainz professional fire department is adequately staffed in both operational and administrative services. This ranges from organizational structure and job descriptions to personnel selection and training to daily duty scheduling. The department is also the central point of contact for personnel matters relating to the volunteer fire department, from the children's and youth fire department, admission to operational service, training and further education, to honors and promotions, as well as special honorary officials.
