Internal affairs and projects (16.01)
The Internal Affairs and Projects Department handles central tasks for the municipal enterprise. These include administration, accounting, finance, invoicing, and license and contract management. It also manages technical project management for IT projects in the city of Mainz.
Projects (16.01.01)
This department manages IT projects for the city of Mainz. It supports specialist departments with requirements, conducts market analyses, and draws up service specifications. It also oversees the procurement, introduction, and handover of hardware, software, and infrastructure into ongoing operations.
Economy and finance (16.01.02)
This department supports the KDZ Mainz divisions as well as customers and suppliers. It ensures economic and financial stability. Its tasks include tendering and ordering, cost accounting and performance accounting, financial accounting, invoicing, financial planning, and liquidity planning.
General administration (16.01.03)
This department supports all areas of KDZ Mainz as well as customers and suppliers. It manages buildings, contracts, licenses, IT security, and human resources. It is also the point of contact for the municipal enterprise's customers.
Application management (16.02)
The Application Management Department supports all offices and municipal enterprises in the state capital of Mainz. It is responsible for programs and end devices in the workplace. It also supports customers in Rhineland-Palatinate who use KDZ software provided statewide.
Human resources application support (16.02.01)
KDZ provides central software for human resources management in Rhineland-Palatinate. It covers payroll accounting, cost planning, time management, staffing plans, travel expenses, and access management. Application management supports around 80 clients with approximately 25,000 payroll runs per month.
Application support for other procedures (16.02.02)
We provide technical support for around 120 applications used by Mainz city administration and three state-wide processes. This includes software updates, technical support, user administration, and interface maintenance.
Terminal device management (16.02.03)
Endpoint management sets up operating systems and controls automatic installation. It distributes programs to devices, keeps systems up to date, and ensures their security through technical hardening.
Application support for web services and GDV (16.02.04)
This department manages the geographic data and information systems (GDV/GIS) of the city of Mainz. It advises and supports users, manages access, and adapts GIS applications.
Technical operation (16.03)
The department operates the IT infrastructure in the background (backend and backbone) for the city administration of Mainz and other municipalities in Rhineland-Palatinate.
System services (16.03.01)
This department plans, installs, and maintains Microsoft servers and IT infrastructures. It provides Citrix and VPN access, ensures secure and high-performance systems, and performs regular updates. It also operates virus protection, endpoint security, and central email and iOS administration.
Databases and storage services (16.03.02)
The group manages databases, storage, virtualization, and backups. It selects, installs, configures, and monitors systems. It also ensures secure and stable operation and performs error analysis.
Network and telephony (16.03.03)
The department plans, installs, and maintains the network structure and telephone infrastructure. It ensures stable and secure connections and maintains the city's telephone system and VoIP systems.
SAP and web services (16.03.04)
The group plans, installs, and maintains the SAP, Linux, and Internet infrastructure. It ensures the operation of web-based specialist procedures and operates the KDZ Cloud, the intranet, and the websites of the city of Mainz.
IT Service Management Department (16.04)
IT service management controls and coordinates all IT services for the city administration of Mainz. It is the central point of contact for inquiries and malfunctions, ensures the provision and installation of end devices, and organizes the procurement of hardware and software. In addition, the department is responsible for user administration, IT asset management, and output management.
